Today is a special day because this will be the last blog that I will write for my English class B1+.

Before I want say something.

Nowadays, I think that English language is a tool very important when postulating to a job, domination of this language is a plus to the moment of search new opportunities in any area of interesting.

Personally, I think having English classes in at the university is very necessary because as a student we are required to know this language, so in my case it was a good opportunity to start learning the language.

At first I cost much understand the classes, because I did not had a good base English, but slowly I’ve learned, though I know I will need more time to master English language, but I’m sure that I will can learn.

With regard to blogs, many times I complicated but thanks to them I was able to improve my writing and also contributed to memorize words of a form more efficiently.

There are many aspects that I need to improve, while I have not money to pay for private lessons I will continue studying on my own. To improve hearing, I will listen more songs and I will see interviews because people talk slower; to improve my writing I’ll keep reading and putting in practical what I learn; I think to improve my pronunciation I must watch videos and read to understand how to say things correctly and to hear with more attention too.

Outside the English class I try to use what I’m learning, although it’s difficult because I don’t have with who to practice.

Undoubtedly nowadays I use more English, I try to understand what people say or translate anything that I read or I try of to say small words or sentences, but I’m always insecure especially when I say things without a dictionary nearby.

In summary, it has been a very good experience, although I had a hard time.

Today, I’m going to talk about the good and bad points of this year 2014.

This year has been quite difficult for me because there have been several complications in my personal life and also in my university life; however, they are not as severe, really are things that can be resolved.

Well, this year has been very busy because there have been many things to do.

Earlier this year I posed several objectives, not only related to my academic obligations but also of my personal life because my big goal for 2014 was to be, be a better person.

In general, this year has been very difficult, because I have had to do many things, although I can say it’s been a good year.

There are many things I could do but I’d rather go fulfilling with simpler objectives because my main goal this year is the of not to stress.

In summary, there are many achievements this 2014, some undoubtedly have cost more than others; moreover, there are ideas that cannot be concretized in this occasion but there will be new opportunities to get them. As for other objectives, undoubtedly, there are some that would can fulfill in this last part of the year, for example, the goal of not fail subjects in the university.

I know that sometimes you want to achieve much quickly and effectively but the reality is that everything requires of a time and of a moment, therefore, although I have many unfinished things this year, the more important for me, is that I have lived one year more and not just me but every member of my family.

Today I’m going to talk about facebook!

Nowadays, social networks have occupied much of the life of people, and luckily, my personal life still belongs to me in some way or another.

In my case, I have that to use facebook page, because many messages that have to do with the university are disseminated through this page, although is an informal means.

During my day, I try not to use much facebook, because I think that is a major distraction, because it prevents concentration, but although not one wants to use it, many of the group works is organized through this page, and that is quite annoying, it is what happens these days.

I think it might be good things in this site, for example, use for to find people with whom has been lost contact, or to speak with family or friends who are in other countries or cities, it’s more cheaper, because you save on long distance calls.

Those were some good things on the page, but there are also bad things, for example, with conversations via chat, people lose the ability go to meet somebody and talk face to face, people cannot communicate well, they do not worry about writing, each day people write worse, and besides, I think that people are not aware that by writing so many personal things on this page, they are being exposed to a danger.

I have always believed that it is important to adapt to the changes that are happening in the world, because we are part of it; but I think that abuse of both social networks will make people be less sociable.

Today, I’m going to talk about, how green I am?

I know that for several years, in Chile has installed a recycling concept, which I think is very good but isn’t a practice common in the country although do exist good intensions for doing.

It is true that there are places where you can recycle but are only in certain areas in the city not allowing constant use, therefore, sometimes when people want to get rid of something that can be recycled have trouble finding the place, opting the end for throw away in the common trash.

I think  that people learn about environmentally friendly practices when they are watching certain programs in the TV or when reading or when know other cultures, because Chile not encourage these activities.

Personally, I would like to recycle, but nowadays I don’t have time to do it, so I try to protect the environment in other ways, for example, I use plastic bags many times before throwing them away, I use sometimes aerosol, among other things.

I cannot choose to use public transport or the car because I do not have money to buy a vehicle, but I can choose to go by bus or by bicycle. I choose bus because it’s safer for me because if I travel from my house to the university, the people could rob me.

I have not joined any eco-organization because I don’t have time right now; maybe I do something independently in a few years.

The Chilean society needs more information to learn to recycle, or to find out how to do little things that can help the environment.

Today, I’m going to talk about of Genetic Modified Organisms.

When we speak of genetically modified organisms, we are speaking of transgenic. In simple words, a transgenic is any living organism that possesses a combination of genetic material obtained through the use of modern biotechnologies.

The modified organisms are used in different areas, being its main objective to improve the physiological and morphological characteristics of a species, for example, resistance to frost. In some areas where are used the transgenics are in the area alimentary and in the agricultural.

In the forestry sector, is not used much this concept, in this case we speak of “genetic improvement” and not of transgenics.

I think that transgenics can be harmful to health, because genetic material of a bacterium is entering in the genome the fruits and vegetables, that can to produce a negative impact in the healthy. On the other hand, in the agriculture sector, the people want improving effectiveness of herbicides, but the people do not think that plants also produce resistance, producing that the doses increases when are applied, which will not be good for the ecosystem.

Finally, in the forestry sector, what you want is to improve the resistance of plants, the form of the trees, which are generally not actions harmful to the ecosystem.

The truth is that I do not agree with the use of genetic modified organisms, but are unfortunately more common than we think.

Hello everyone!

Today, I’m going to talk about of my future job.

To be honest, when I inscribed in at university to study Forestry, I don’t knew much about of this profession, therefore, I not start my studies thinking what I wanted to become to future as professional but  I believe over the years that have passed, I have enjoyed this career.

I just know that in the future I want to be a good professional, able to work on any job related with my profession.

There are many areas that I like about this career, but there are two topics that attract me more: entomology and forest pathology; although there is no area that displeases me.

Well, in future I would like to work on Santiago city, because I will not like to get a job away of my daughter, because I would not want to live permanently outside the capital, maybe I would work for short periods or projects outside of capital, because I’m not putting my profession in the first place of my life, to me being a mother is the essential, and I want that she grows here.

I know this it’s contradictory, but I would not like be locked in an office every days, also I would travel, but only a few times, but I also know that I have to take advantage of the job opportunities that be presented before me, all the jobs are possible and therefore debatable.

Being good or bad depends of each person, and in my case, I’m sure that with effort and perseverance I will be a good professional.

Today, I am going to talk about animals.

I like this topic because animals are fantastic!!!.

I really really like the feline, especially the tiger, because they protect its territory; my Chinese sign is this animal, and I love it, therefore, I use a pendant depicting a tiger’s face. There are also animals that I don’t really like, such as: monkeys, sharks, mandrill, some amphibians and reptiles, although I respect its life.

In my house I have pets: a dog called Shinozuke and a cat called Raina, tough when I was a little girl, in my house had ten cats, was not comfortable, it was difficult to have so many animals, so now we only have two it.

I think that it’s very good to have in a house pets, because children can play with it, some animals also can help protect house; although is very important to keep it clean, fed and happy.

Nowadays, there are many dogs in the streets and that’s very bad, people should learn that animals also feel and that abandon it on the street is a very cruel act.

In a municipality of Santiago, I don’t remember its name, people are collecting stray dogs to be trained and so to be police dogs. I honestly, I believe that is a beautiful initiative.

Hello everyone!!!

Today, I will talk about of my favourite holidays.

In general, my family has no much money, therefore, when we vacation is within the same region, because is more cheap although at times they’ve gone to other places outside the city.

Personally, the best vacation I’ve had so far was a little over a year ago.

In those vacations I was in Santiago, I was going to different place with my boyfriend and my daughter.

Those seven days were very special days, as my daughter was starting to talk and it was fun to go to different places with her.

We visited many places, for example, Reserva Nacional Río Clarillo, Museo Nacional de Historia Natural, Japanese garden of San Cristobal hill, Fantasilandia amusement park;  we also  visited  people not seen for many years.

The most important of those holidays is that we were able to share as a family, and although we did not do many extravagant things, we win beautiful memories.

This next summer I do go to the beach with my daughter because I’m saving money, therefore, I hope to continue saving beautiful experiences with her, my boyfriend and my mother.

Today I will talk about of Permaculture, therefore, in this opportunity I will use knowledge of the video called "7 Food Forests in 7 minutes" of Geoff Lawson (2010).

In summary, Geoff Lawson teaches that permaculture is a technique that it has as objective: take advantage of environmental conditions and soil to grow foods of a clean form and sustainable in the time. The idea isn’t to change nor damage the ecosystem, and so somehow or other maintain the place with minimal intervention.

In my opinion, I think that permaculture is a good idea, because there are not resources and the needs are many in the population, especially in the alimentary area.

If we take the resources we get from the forests without aggressively intervene in them, the environment will respond and a different form.

It’s very important to understand that the environment is transcendental for our existence in the planet; therefore, it’s imperative to learn new techniques for obtaining food.

The resources (soil, water, climate in other) are scarce, and permaculture is an excellent technique to do these resources last longer.

It would be very interesting knew interesting know a little more of this technique to open new possibilities.

Hello everyone.

This time I will begin by summarizing about Yann Arthus-Bertrand conference entitled “The Earth from above” (2009).

Arthus-Betrand, in essence, gives a speech calling to become aware of the negative impact we are seeing today in the planet.

All this due to the over-exploitation of resources, improper removal of hundreds of products, the increase in industrial waste, among other things.

This person shows the reality of this world, through various photographs he expresses what is happening in the planet today.

In the different pictures are observed, for example, the thaw in the Arctic, the waste produced by the high oil extraction, over-exploitation of coral reefs. Not just that, through various interviews, collects the vision of people of different races, ethnic, cultural and religious beliefs on various topics.

I think it’s very important to think about what we are doing today in our planet, because the unconsciousness of human is just producing havoc that are impacting in a negative way and that affect the life of every being that is part of this world.

The work done is very good, the conference, in general, his words sensitizes the soul.

Today I will talk about my experience with the different blogs made in English classes.

In the pass, I didn’t know what a blog was, at first I struggled to learn how to use this application, but now, although I’m not an expert I understand and I know what this subject is about. So I can say that my experience with the various blogs has been generally quite good.

It’s very difficult to quantify how much they have improved my writing skills, although honestly, I feel like writing a little better than before. I know it is hard work and requires long study, constant and perseverance.

I honestly don’t know what else you could add on blogs, maybe I would like those us to write about of different things, topics, for example that each person write about their likes, beliefs or thoughts.

I don’t know what else I can say; maybe it’s good comment that although that it has been very difficult write as accurate as possible, It is very true that is very necessary to developed this skill.

Manage the English language (speak, write, interact among other things) is truly essential and decisive for our future work, therefore, we must study more seriously this language because if we truly practice, our professional life will be more successful.

Today I’m going to talk about of my favourite film.

I honestly don't have a favourite  kind of films, I just try of to watch films that not containing many bloody deaths because I don't like; in overall I worry over what the film is that in its kind, although I like movies based on books and the of martial arts.

My favorite actors are Jet Li, Will Smith and Robin Williams; I like the way as they act, I think that they are very expressive and they convey very well their emotions when are acting.

I don't have a director that I like in particular, I just can say that the director Tim Burton isn't my favourite.

I can say that the film "The lord of the ring" it's one of my favorite, the story is excellent, the special effects are great, very good actors, although I also like the book. =)

I'm not expert on film but I like that the story to be interesting, that allows to dream.

Today, I will talk about of a article that I think that is interesting; this paper is entitled “Genetic parameters for early growth and biomass traits of Pinus radiata D. Don under different water regimes”.

The author of this article talks about  the genetic improvement in Chile, in this study he says of that this topic in our country ever has been focused towards  the improvement of some morphological characteristic in the trees, for example: volume, form and wood density, but he believes that it would be useful to know the different genetic parameters that determine to an individual, since it would allow to have knowledge on who would be the best individuals, for thus be able doing an early election more efficient.
The author for to show the importance of  knowing the genetic parameters in the plants,  did a experiment during five months old where two groups of seedlings  P. radiata were treated differently: the first with a good watering (GW) and the second with a high  water stress level (WS).
In this case, the results of this study  concluded that the characteristics of the height and root collar diameter of the seedlings would be useful, for example,  to in indirect selection of individuals that it must have a high drought tolerance because these characteristics have a high rate of heritability.
I liked a lot this article, because I think that the genetic improvement is an interesting area of study although very complex, honestly I believe that  knowledge of this subject is essential for our professional future.
The genetic improvement is a topic useful and helpful for the economic sphere of the country, although it's more within the reach of large corporations by how costly that is, but it's a recoverable investment.

Hello everyone!!
Today, I will talk about the World Soccer Championship 2014.

Honestly I don't like football because I think that it's a very boring sport; however, I do have a opinion.

I don't agree with the world soccer championship to be made in Brazil this year.

Brazil is a country with high levels of prostitution, drugs; on the streets there are many orphans who don't have a home, food or protection of a family.

It certainly isn't the only country that has these problems, but it's shameful to hear on the news the amount of money  they have spent to build the different stadiums.

I agree with the people, I agree that there should be world soccer championship in those countries where children are being abused, where people haven't food.
Brazilian President, you should care for its people, they are killing orphaned children in the streets during the night for the tourist, that shouldn't be, you must protect to the helpless.
It's true that world soccer championship to the end is going to help the brazilian economy, but how much you will lose in return?.
Maybe my opinion is very negative but we can't to support this frivolity, this is the reality.

Today, I will talk about of my favourite photograph.

Really… I think that this topic is more complicated than  the others because I’m not a lover of the photos, maybe it’s because my pulse isn’t very good and the pictures…are very bad, although there are exceptions.

Ok, the next photograph is a of my favourites.

I took this photo October 2, 2012. She is my daughter, her name is Sylpheil, actually she has a little over two years old. 

I choose this photograph because that day was vey special for me, because was when my daughter smiled for the first time in response to something that I said, she was almost seven months old.

I like this photograph because that day I felt a beautiful conection with my daughter. 

What can I say?, I confess that in my mobile I have hundreds of pictures of my daughter, so I can portray as she is changing as months pass, as she is growing.

I know that there are many things that I could  take photos, but when your are parent, you will understand me...we are the official paparazzi of our children..XD!!

This week, I will talk about of the fire in Valparaiso a sad topic.

Unfortunately, the ninety percent of the fires are caused for the people; nevertheless, there are cases that are of naturally occurring, but occurs very little.
I think that the fires are caused for the unconsciousness of the people, when they burn trash, or when they throw the burning cigarettes to ground.
Some of the reasons of why I believe that the fire spread so quicky are: the nearness between homes, the environment conditions, the lack of water, difficult in the access for emergency vehicles, among others reasons.
Really, I don't know if this fire could have been avoided, maybe to prevent, the people should understand that the fires is dangerous, that no is a play.
I would have done the same, I had evacuated the people because the life is most important than the material things.

Hello everyone!!!

Today, I will talk about of my favourite piece technological.

Personally, I think that the technology it's necessary because us allows do something more rapidly, is it that allow the development in the countries. I'm agree that technology makes life easier but I don't think it's life.

Maybe you don't undersatnd me, I mean that there are some technological devices are useful and others not so much.

Although I don't like, today in day, yes I have a piece of technology that is essential to me, the phone.

I have little time therefore from my phone  I may to read,  to study, search literature and also I can do different homeworks.

I also use it to maintain a contact during the day with my daughter, so I can keep me informed and responding to any event with respect to my daughter therefore the phone it's very essential for me.

I also use lot the computer both to write my reports as also to put children's films for my daughter.

Finally, the life is more that a piece of technology.
